I’m Paul Thompson – founder of Brightline Painting.
You should read this if you…
Thrive in construction and operations leadership (painting experience is a plus, but not required).
Want to bridge the gap between the office and the field — with the ability to connect at all levels.
Are motivated by career growth and future leadership opportunities.
Love building systems, managing people, and driving performance.
Want to be part of a high-growth, mission-driven company changing an industry.
What it’s like to work here
Autonomy: I’m not a micro-manager. You’ll own results and have freedom to execute.
Balance: We believe in high performance without burnout. No nights, no weekends.
Growth: Our company is scaling fast. You’ll have room to grow as we expand.
Team: We have a tight-knit, performance-oriented culture. If you’re here, you’re “one of us.”
Training & Development: We don’t just talk about it — we invest heavily in coaching, systems, and leadership development.
About Brightline We’re not just another contractor. We’re a professional services firm (think: accounting firm) disguised as a painting and drywall company. Our goal? To build a market-leading, industry-changing home services company where everyone wins — employees, customers, and the community.
We are headquartered in Greenville, SC, with active markets in a number of areas throughout the southeast.
What you’ll do
Lead day-to-day operations across multiple jobs and crews.
Drive accountability for schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
Coach, mentor, and develop project managers and coordinators.
Solve problems quickly in the field while improving systems for the long-term.
Partner with leadership to scale our operations across new regions.
Bridge the office/field gap — earning trust from crews and alignment from leadership.
What we’re looking for
5+ years of leadership experience in construction operations (painting is a plus, not required).
Proven track record of running crews, projects, or regions with success.
Ability to lead both blue-collar teams and office professionals.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Tech savvy — comfortable using tools like PaintScout (estimating), Monday.com (project mgmt), QuickBooks (finance), and CRM systems.
Natural leadership presence — respected on job sites, strategic in meetings.
Ability to travel regularly throughout the southeast.
Benefits
Competitive salary + performance bonus potential
Paid time off & paid holidays
Company-provided uniforms and tech tools
Career growth into senior leadership roles
Extensive training & leadership development programs
Strong culture of balance — no nights, weekends, or burnout
