    Butterfly Staffing is actively seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and improve daily warehouse operations for a growing third-party logistics (3PL) provider based in Chesapeake, VA. This is an excellent opportunity to bring leadership, process expertise, and team development into a dynamic and fast-paced distribution environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Work directly with site leadership to oversee the efficiency, quality, and performance of daily warehouse operations.
    • Monitor and report on key operational metrics to ensure service standards and client expectations are consistently met.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement in areas including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, and shipping.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs to drive consistency and performance across warehouse functions.
    • Lead, coach, and support a team of 4–5 front-line Supervisors and 35–45 warehouse associates.
    • Forecast labor needs, coordinate staffing plans, and manage onboarding and training programs.
    • Drive adherence to safety protocols and maintain a high standard of regulatory and operational compliance.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer requests, service escalations, and issue resolution.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to align operations with account requirements and service goals.
    • Utilize WMS tools to optimize workflow and ensure accurate billing and reporting.
    • Facilitate daily planning meetings and lead execution of action plans across warehouse teams.
    • Build and maintain vendor relationships that support operational and cost efficiency.

    Preferred Background:

    • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in warehouse operations; background in e-commerce or mass retail fulfillment is strongly preferred.
    • Prior experience working within 3PL operations is required.
    • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ability to use system tools for productivity, planning, and billing.
    • Proven ability to manage teams, motivate performance, and handle fast-paced operational demands.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
    • Experience in quality control or inventory accuracy is a plus.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and operational experience.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word required.
  • Compensation
    $80,000-$100,000 per year
