Position Overview
A large non-profit organization operates one of Brooklyn’s leading Older Adult Transportation Programs, enabling seniors, including many Holocaust survivors, to maintain independence and community connection. The Operations Manager oversees the program’s operations, funding, partnerships, and compliance, ensuring every ride supports dignity, safety, and accessibility for adults 60+.
The Ideal Candidate
Strong operations leader with experience in human services or transportation management
Proven success managing budgets, contracts, and compliance
Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder with community stakeholders
Skilled in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team leadership
Organized, data-driven, and proactive in improving service quality
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily operations of the Older Adult Transportation Program across multiple boroughs
Ensure compliance with all contractual, fiscal, and reporting requirements
Supervise staff, vendors, and volunteers to maintain efficient and safe service delivery
Oversee program budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare funding applications and reports
Build and maintain relationships with funders, elected officials, and community partners
Address client and vendor concerns with a solutions-oriented approach
Drive outreach efforts to identify eligible seniors and strengthen community engagement
Qualifications & Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
2+ years of management experience in transportation or human services
Strong organizational, supervisory, and financial management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders
