  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary

    The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the daily operations and production at the facility. This role leads production, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure that organizational goals are met efficiently and safely.

    Job Responsibilities

    Production Management

    • Direct, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day production operations to meet quality standards and monthly targets.
    • Ensure production schedules are executed effectively while maintaining cost-efficiency and managing cost per ton.
    • Collaborate with the management team to align plant operations with customer demands.
    • Maximize utilization and performance of mobile and stationary equipment at the lowest operating cost.

    Team Leadership

    • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
    • Identify training needs and implement development initiatives.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and oversee staffing actions (hiring, promotion, discipline, etc.).
    • Assist the Plant Manager and HR in addressing personnel issues and grievances.

    Quality Assurance

    • Ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
    • Monitor and support quality assurance initiatives to maintain consistent product quality.

    Safety & Compliance

    • Promote a proactive safety culture; ensure compliance with MSHA and other regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct safety standdowns and training sessions to minimize incidents and reinforce safe practices.

    Reporting & Communication

    • Review weekly and monthly activity reports tracking key production and performance metrics (e.g., tonnage, efficiency, sales).
    • Analyze and report production data to the Plant Manager on a regular basis.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in Engineering or a related field.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in a manufacturing, mining, or aggregate environment.
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor employees across multiple levels.
    • Experience assessing team performance and implementing improvement plans.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of mining operations and plant processes.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Adaptable, with the ability to manage change in a fast-paced environment.
    • Willingness and ability to travel for work as needed.

    Working Conditions

    • Work will include exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, dust, and noise.
    • May require evening or weekend work to meet production goals and deadlines.

     

  • Compensation
    $120,000-$135,000 per year
