    We are seeking a Hands-On Technical Operations Manager who can lead from the field today- and grow into full operational ownership as the business scales. This is an opportunity for an experienced residential HVAC professional who wants real leadership, real influence, and real upside.

    Role Overview

    This is a working manager role with a clear growth trajectory.

    In the near term, you will:

    Perform residential HVAC installs and service work

    Lead technicians in the field

    Oversee daily operations and execution

    Help build systems, processes, and company culture

    As the company grows, your role will intentionally shift from hands-on fieldwork into operational leadership, with a clearly defined path into a General Manager - type role responsible for day-to-day operations.

    Licensing Requirement (North Carolina)

    Must hold a valid North Carolina HVAC contractor license

    Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Technical & Field Leadership

    Perform residential HVAC installs, service, and maintenance

    Lead complex installs and service calls

    Act as technical lead and mentor for technicians

    Ensure quality control and adherence to company standards

    Reduce callbacks, rework, and warranty issues

    Operations & Leadership

    Manage day-to-day operations (technicians, dispatch, CSRs)

    Balance field responsibilities with operational leadership

    Track, own, and improve key KPIs

    Support dispatch, scheduling, and daily job flow

    Help document SOPs, install standards, and checklists

    Communicate daily with ownership on field performance and operations

    Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training as the team grows

    Build a culture of accountability, pride in workmanship, and continuous improvement

    Required Experience

    5+ years of residential HVAC install and service experience

    Comfortable leading installs and complex service calls

    Strong leadership and communication skills

    Willing and able to be hands-on while managing operations

    Organized, accountable, and coachable

    Comfortable working in a startup / build-from-the-ground-up environment

    Preferred

    Lead tech or supervisory experience

    Experience with ServiceTitan

    Strong interest in long-term leadership and ownership
