    We assist participants with:

    Healthcare access—including identifying a medical home, dental care, and wellness programs

    Linkages to mental health and substance use services

    In-house mental health counseling, therapy, and support groups addressing emotional well-being and relationship challenges

    Life skills development to foster independence

    Join Our Team: Operations Supervisor

    We’re looking for a compassionate and mission‑driven Operations Supervisor to support the overnight operations of our Interim Housing Program. In this role, you’ll help maintain a safe, stable, and welcoming environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

    You’ll provide on‑site leadership to overnight staff, support residents with dignity, and ensure smooth, consistent operations during the hours when stability and care matter most.

    Job Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, respectful, and dignified environment for both participants and staff. This fast-paced, client-facing role requires patience, empathy, and a commitment to working with individuals impacted by homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and trauma.

    Key Responsibilities

    Enforce Joyous Ventures’ rules and regulations consistently

    Guide and support overnight staff, ensuring duties are completed effectively and in alignment with program expectations.

    Maintain a secure, stable environment by monitoring the facility, responding to concerns, and supporting residents with compassion.

    Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents (e.g., theft, accidents, medical needs)

    Conduct facility walkthroughs, manage incident response, complete required documentation, and ensure operational tasks are carried out accurately.

    De-escalate conflicts with support from the Program Manager and Clinical Social Worker

    Assist with basic needs, help resolve conflicts, and use trauma‑informed de‑escalation techniques when challenges arise.

    Manage emergency situations, including contacting law enforcement when necessary

    Monitor security cameras to ensure ongoing safety

    Complete accurate, timely incident reports

    Ensure shared spaces remain orderly, safe, and reflective of a trauma‑informed, resident‑centered approach.

    Provide clear, detailed handoff notes and incident summaries to daytime leadership to ensure continuity of care.

    Skills & Qualifications

    Experience in shelter, housing, social services, or related community‑based work

    Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills

    Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in challenging situations

    Familiarity with trauma‑informed care, crisis response, or de‑escalation practices

    Ability to work consistent overnight shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed

    Willingness and ability to travel between program sites for staff support, operational needs, trainings, or emergency coverage

    Certifications Required:

    Food Handler Certification

    BLS/CPR Certification
