Our client, Xstrahl, is a medical technology company that designs clinical and research systems to help eradicate cancer. For more than 20 years, Xstrahl has been shaping the development of superficial and orthovoltage therapies for cancer treatment and advancing pre-clinical research. Xstrahl systems are in operation at more than 700 treatment and research facilities worldwide.
Our client is seeking an Operations and Inventory Specialist who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of activities related to production, logistics, and supply chain management. The lead will work closely with the customer success team to ensure customer satisfaction. The lead will ensure that the performance goals related to delivering high-quality products to customers are met.
Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Manage inventory levels daily
- Manage inventory and cycle counts on a weekly/monthly/yearly basis
- Ensure stock levels are maintained and tracked for accuracy with the ERP System
- Ensure all standard processes are followed, and documentation is completed accurately
- Manage parts availability on time at the US office for sales and service for all products (Medical and Life Sciences)
- Look for continuous improvements in the framework for managing inventory movement of parts, ensuring accountability across all departments
Introduce a mechanism to track and maintain minimum stock levels
Sales to Production Process Management
- Ensure accuracy of the quotes and sales orders with respect to product and production
- Ensure accurate communication and confirmation from vendors on production concerning sales orders, and communicate the same with the customer success team
- Ensure accurate communication and confirmation from UK manufacturing on production concerning sales orders from the US, and communicate the same with the customer success team
- Work with the R&D Project Manager on special request accessories so that they are designed and developed as per customer specifications
Purchasing
- Ensure parts required for R&D and service activities in the US are purchased on time
- Work with the finance team to ensure all documentation and approvals are in order before purchases are made
- Ensure purchase orders to vendors and UK manufacturing for products and accessories are released on time
- Coordinate with the Customer Success team to ensure purchases made for service activities are tracked
Shipping and Receiving (Logistics)
- Follow the shipping process and guidelines, and ship parts and products globally with accurate documentation, with tracking information provided
- Ensure documentation is accurate and complete for custom clearances. Work with the shipping company to ensure the shipments are cleared from customs
- Follow the receiving process and guidelines to receive parts into inventory
- Ensure inventory is updated on time as goods are shipped and received
Quality
- Ensure the NCR and SCAR process is followed for defects relating to the product from vendors
- Ensure the availability of parts for field corrections for all products in the US and for life sciences products globally
- Introduce quality system best practices
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Education or GED + 3-5 years of Logistics and Inventory Control experience in a manufacturing or similar environment required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some college preferred, but not required.
- SAP Experience
- Experience in procurement, logistics, inventory/warehouse management
- Must be able to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Experience in introducing new processes, procedures, and providing cost-saving initiatives.
Travel: Travel is not required as part of this position; however, urgent shipments may have to be taken to local FedEx or UPS facilities on a regular basis.
