About the Role:
1st Precision Grading LLC is looking for a skilled and dependable Operator/Foreman to join our growing team in Phoenix, AZ. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive projects forward, lead crews in the field, and deliver high-quality grading work that clients can count on. Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment including graders, scrapers, excavators, and compactors on grading and site prep projects
Supervise and direct field crew members to ensure safe, efficient, and on-schedule project completion
Read and interpret grading plans, site maps, and construction documents
Monitor grade elevations and ensure work meets project specifications and tolerances
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and inspectors on daily operations
Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
Enforce jobsite safety protocols and OSHA compliance standards
Requirements:
3+ years of experience operating heavy grading or earthwork equipment
Prior foreman or crew lead experience in grading, excavation, or site development
Ability to read and interpret civil grading plans and blueprints
Strong knowledge of grade checking, drainage, and compaction standards
Valid driver's license; CDL a plus
Familiarity with GPS/machine control systems preferred
Strong communication and leadership skills with a safety-first mindset
