    Job Purpose

    The purpose of this job is to provide experienced ophthalmic assistance and clinic flow coordination to physicians within our busy ophthalmology office. An experienced ophthalmic technician is required for this role.

    Duties

    • Assist doctors during examinations and procedures by preparing the necessary instruments and equipment.

    • Perform preliminary tests, including measuring visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and pupil reactions. Includes visual fields, OCT, IOM, biometry, pachymetry, refraction, and more.

    • Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.

    • Educate patients on eye health, treatment options, and post-operative care.

    • Handle phone calls, patient triage, and administrative tasks to assist the provider.

    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    • Collaborate with team members to enhance patient experience and streamline clinic operations.

    Qualifications

    • Experience as an ophthalmic technician is required. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or higher certification is preferred.

    • Knowledge of medical office practices and medical terminology.

    • Familiarity with medications and ocular disease processes.

    • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
