Complete Eye Care is looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal person must be able to work within a team environment. The candidate should be able to perform, or able to learn, a wide scope of tests while delivering top notch customer service. Open to Full Time or Part Time candidates.
Responsibilities:
Performs pre-exam testing to include: visual acuity assessment, including pinhole and glare testing, confrontational visual field testing, assess extraocular muscles, pupillary evaluation, tonometry, assess angles, pupillary dilation, and all other patient services as requested by provider including specialty tests such as color vision screening, stereopsis, dry eye testing ,and exophthalmometry, pachymetry, PAM, refraction, retinoscopy, and other tests as needed.
Walks patient's through the various parts of their visit, helping acquaint them with the procedures being performed.
Educates patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions.
Obtains patient history including chief complaint and documents it thoroughly in the chart.
Assist in training of technicians

Required Skills:
Must be able to manually refract
Ability to work in EMR software and other computer programs
Ability to build sustainable relationships and engage customers by going the extra mile.
Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented environment.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in MD Office software system preferred
Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Ophthalmic Technician preferred (pay adjusted accordingly for certification)
