    Job Description

    Oppenheimer Asset Management [OAM] is committed to providing our clients and their investment professionals with exceptional service and support, combined with expertise across multiple disciplines, asset classes, investment vehicles and investing styles.  Oppenheimer Asset Management “OAM” serves as the Overlay Portfolio Manager “OPM” for strategies and portfolios offered in the Unified Managed Account “UMA” and FA Directed “FAD” programs.  These portfolios can consist of Manager Models, Mutual Funds, and Exchange Traded Funds.  The primary role of the Overlay Portfolio Manager is to support the management and trading of the Unified Managed Account (UMA) products, mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds.

    Responsibilities:

    • Under general supervision (but works independently most of the time) responsible for liaising with other departments, i.e. Product, Performance, Recon, Account Services, Marketing, Broker Dealer Operations, and Branch Level Offices, as it relates to the Overlay Portfolio Management of UMA and FA Directed programs
    • Coordinate, monitor, and drive morning processes
    • Conduct daily portfolio drift analysis and initiate orders as needed
    • Communicate time sensitive model portfolio changes from external business partners
    • Maintain, calculate, allocate and execute trades based on clients' guidelines and asset allocation using the Overlay Portfolio Management of UMA and FA Directed programs approach
    • Process trade error reconciliations/covers in an accurate and timely fashion as they occur
    • Must be detail-orientated, analytical and be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining accurate, complete and high quality work in a timely manner
    • Interact as a liaison between investment managers and financial advisors. Interact with operations, Technology, marketing and new accounts departments on any issues pertaining to the UMA products, Exchange Traded Funds and Mutual Funds. May respond to basic advisor requests and /or portfolio management questions and refer more complex problems to senior staff
    • Must be able to discuss the Market, in general, and the holdings contained in the various UMA portfolios.  Ideal candidate has a strong understanding of investment products and securities operations
    • Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact.  Is able to deliver a work product that requires less supervision and should be able to facilitate discussions and reach decision

    Qualifications:

    • Strong judgment, great telephone and organizational skills, time management
    • PC Skills should include, but not limited to, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and “extremely” proficient in Excel
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
    • Has knowledge of portfolio accounting systems, Vestmark is a plus

    Requirements:

    • BA/BS in finance or a related field plus 2-3 years of related experience (relevant internship experience will be considered)
