Summer Internship Technology - Developer Track
Job Description
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
In our OPPENHEIMERFUNDS TECHNOLOGY INTERNSHIP PROGRAM you will experience a 10-week role in our Technology & Global Operations organization. In the DEVELOPER Track, you will be placed in either Cyber Security, Strategy & Innovation, Investment Risk Technology, Marketing and Distribution Technology, Architecture, Data Science, Automation, Shared Services, or Infrastructure.
This experience will provide you with an understanding of the OppenheimerFunds business model, real-world, hands-on experience and an opportunity to work with your team, and to develop a project, which you will present to your team and other OFI Leadership.
Each Intern participant will be assigned a personal OFI advisor to help guide, coach, and provide support throughout the entirety of the program.
PROGRAM JOURNEY OVERVIEW:
Participate in delivery of technology solutions end to end (or as much as you can complete during the program). Build one or more of the following core capabilities (business analysis, project management, application development, web development, cyber security, enterprise architecture, quality assurance)
Learn the Oppenheimer business model and growth strategy (product, investment, sales, operations and corporate services)
Participate in cultural, technology and intern specific training
Collaborate with your personal OFI Advisor, and other relevant business and HR personnel
Our internships typically run from June 4 – August 9, 2019. We will be conducting college visits in September and October. Interviews will begin in November and consist of an initial video interview and are followed by a group interview. Offers will be extended in December of 2018.
Qualifications
DEVELOPER TRACK - SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Course work in programming and/or relevant internship work, or work experience, or personal project experience with interest and desire to learn new coding languages
Ability to communicate and work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Resilient and Innovative mindset; ability to challenge the status quo with new solutions
Be willing to challenge the definition of a well-rounded technologist
Strive for success beyond title and status; go beyond manager’s expectations
Collaborate with multiple departments and effectively influence positive change and ideas.
