Job Description
Candidate will work with a team of cybersecurity engineers to support security assessment and implementation projects for clients across industries. Candidate's responsibilities will primarily include data gathering, analysis, and research on cybersecurity capabilities. Candidate must be willing to travel up to 50% of their time and work on a deliverable based schedule. Verbal and written communication and client relationship skills are required as the candidate will represent Optic Cyber Solutions while visiting client sites. Candidate is expected to work independently and remotely to meet deadlines while developing quality deliverables.
Candidate will assist a team in (1) providing input into cybersecurity and cybermaturity assessments using standards such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework and the CMMI Cybermaturity Platform, (2) supporting security risk discussions to gain an understanding of the client's risk tolerance levels, (3) assisting in policy, standards, and procedure review to gain an understanding of the client's cybersecurity program, (4) performing analysis to identify gaps between the client's current and target cybersecurity program, and (5) creating security assessment reports summarizing findings and client next steps for improving cybersecurity capabilities. Deliverables will primarily be in MS PowerPoint, MS Word, and MS Excel.

This position includes opportunities to work with a wide range of cybersecurity offices across multiple industry sectors. Candidate will learn about real world cybersecurity challenges faced by these organizations and assist in providing recommendations to mitigate security risks imposed by these challenges. Candidate will also have opportunities to publish and present security research, capabilities, and approaches learned from supporting clients in security journals and at conferences.
