We are growing and seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Frame Specialist / Optician to join our team.
Position Summary
The Frame Specialist / Optician is responsible for guiding patients through the eyewear selection process, ensuring accurate measurements, providing outstanding customer service, and supporting the optical department’s daily operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys fashion, patient interaction, and hands‑on technical work in a healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Styling
Assist patients in selecting frames that suit their style, facial features, and prescription needs
Educate patients on lens materials, coatings, and available options
Provide instruction on eyewear care and product features
Optical Technical Skills
Perform accurate optical measurements (PD, segment heights, frame adjustments, etc.)
Verify and dispense eyewear with a high standard of accuracy
Adjust, repair, and troubleshoot glasses as needed
Collaborate with labs and vendors to process lens orders
Sales & Communication
Deliver excellent customer service throughout the eyewear selection and dispensing process
Communicate clearly about pricing, insurance benefits, and product recommendations
Support practice goals related to optical sales, accuracy, and patient satisfaction
Inventory & Merchandising
Maintain clean, organized, visually appealing frame displays
Assist with inventory management, frame ordering, and restocking
Team & Administrative Support
Document services accurately in the practice EHR
Support front desk or clinical teams when needed to ensure smooth patient flow
Participate in continuing training to stay knowledgeable on new products and optical technology
Qualifications
Prior optical or optician experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate)
Strong communication and customer service skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Professional, friendly, and team‑oriented demeanor
Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced healthcare environment
ABO certification is a plus but not required
