Job Summary

At Santa Fe Springs Optometry, we believe in leaving this world a little better than we found it. Our mission is to provide and preserve our patients' sharpest vision so they can focus on what matters most. We are currently seeking a new optician to join our team! As an Optician, you will work directly with patients to fit them with visually corrective devices (spectacles and contact lenses) that fit their lifestyle and visual demands. You will also help them learn about new eyewear products and explain pricing and insurance coverage (primarily VSP and Eyemed). The ideal candidate has exceptional customer service skills and communication skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the different types of ophthalmic devices (i.e. bifocals, progressives, contact lenses, anti-glare coatings, etc) to provide our patients with the sharpest look and vision.

Responsibilities

Learn about patients' occupational and avocational visual demands

Assist with spectacle frame and lens selection

Take facial spectacle measurements to ensure a perfect fit

Prepare specific orders for the ophthalmic lab

Explain pricing, insurance, and payment options to the patient thoroughly

Operate under all HIPPA and confidentiality regulations
