    Job Description

    PURPOSE 

    We are seeking a dynamic and talented Product Designer who can apply expertise in user experience design, visual design, and digital strategy to create and execute design solutions that meet the client’s business goals. Our ideal candidate has a track record of crafting exceptional experiences that solve user needs and is comfortable collaborating with both leaders and peers.  We are looking for someone who is competent in all aspects of the design process, bring Lean UX methods and strategic thinking into enterprise projects, and establish and grow relationships with clients.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design for a variety of projects, under the guidance of a Product Design Lead.
    • Wireframe, design, and prototype solutions for interface and interaction design challenges.
    • Actively participate in requirements/design discussions with design leads, product managers business analysts, and engineers.
    • Collaborate with design leads to translate insights into design solutions.
    • Illustrate user experience using storyboards, information architecture, process flows, user journeys/personas and sitemaps.
    • Use design to communicate complex concepts, whether they’re conversations, frameworks, or ideas.
    • Research ongoing user interaction, technology, and design trends.
    • Create fully fleshed out designs and export assets for desktop, tablet, mobile devices.
    • Conduct usability testing with clients and relevant users.
    • Collaborate with development team to validate technical feasibility of designs and provide feedback through the development process to ensure the highest quality product is shipped.
    • Proactively do competitive research based on product roadmaps.
    • Develop, refine, and adhere to design systems and style guides.
    • Assist design leads in facilitating interactive workshops to gather collective intelligence around business requirements and design ideas.
    • Work independently to apply design concepts and contribute ideas to internal team.
    • Understand and incorporate Design Thinking, Agile Methodologies, Lean Principles and Collective Intelligence into project strategy.

    NECESSARY SKILLS

    • Strong understanding of foundational design principles including type, layout, and use of color.
    • Deep understanding of user experience best practices and the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies.
    • Understanding of desktop, mobile web, native iOS and Android platforms - and have a point of view about when it's best to follow platform-specific conventions.
    • Ability to collaboratively go from whiteboard, to sketch, to high fidelity prototype to live product.
    • Ability to conduct and apply customer research, including design thinking and rapid prototyping.
    • Proven ability to translate requirements into design opportunities within constraints.
    • Ability to clearly articulate design decisions and present your work to others.
    • Hands-on experience with design tools, e.g., Axure, Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
    • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction.
    • Strong sense of collaboration; able to thrive in iterative, cross-disciplinary environments.
    • Comfortable trying new things and failing quickly to get to optimal solution.
    • Ability to drive consensus via facilitation, storytelling, and brainstorming.
    • Open to feedback and willing to learn and improve.
    • Passionate about creating easy, usable and smart solutions for humans.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Product Design, Digital Design, or UX/UI Design related role;
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Visual or Interaction Design, or related discipline with a solid foundation in the principles of design;
    • Display a strong portfolio which demonstrates work across a range of clients; and
    • Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
    • Experience with user research, usability testing, and generating test reports
    • Experience in the planning and facilitation of Design Thinking workshops.
    • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
