    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: Health Data Specialist II (Telecommuting)

    LOCATION: Trenton, NJ 08625

    DURATION: 9 Months  with possible extension

    SHIFT TIMINGS: 8 am to 4 pm, M-F, unpaid lunch from 12 noon – 1 pm

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Telecommuting until a return to office policy is established (currently in process) w/ employee providing own PC while telecommuting.
    • Equipment to be used by the temporary staffing professional(s) : Personal computer, fax, copier, scanner
    • Computer software to be used : Microsoft Office suite, REDCap
    • Interview Mode Web conference

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manages the process to contact hospital and other health care facility health information management departments to request medical records for review
    • Assist in ensuring Health dept clinical staff have direct access to facility Electronic Medical Records systems where appropriate, and ensure all record requests have been fulfilled timely and completely.
    • Coordinates COVID-19 pregnancy and infant data collection activities between Health dept staff including those in Family Health Services, Communicable Disease Services and Population Health; as well as with subgrantees; external healthcare facilities; and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
    • Manages the implementation of health service grants to subgrantee agencies.
    • Provides fiscal and programmatic updates to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Knowledge, skills, education, and/or experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree.
    • Mandatory skills/certification(s) Requirement: Knowledge of pregnancy and infant health issues.
    • Desired skills: Microsoft Office product experience, particularly Excel
    • Grant management experience.
    • Familiarity with electronic medical records.
    • Familiarity with COVID-19 epidemiology.
