  • Responsibilities

    The Payroll Professional is responsible for performing payroll related duties for all assigned clients in a professional manner. The Payroll Professional will process standard and off-cycle payrolls for multiple clients with varying payroll dates in a timely, accurate manner, adhering to wage and hour laws.  

    Employee will have the opportunity to apply for Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) certification after six months of employment with Optimum.

    Essential Duties and Requirements

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:  

    • Daily posting of all scheduled payrolls that are due according to pay group
    • Print payroll reports and checks to be delivered to clients as needed when admin is not available
    • Process payroll check voids/reissues per Optimum or client instruction
    • Resolve any discrepancies or problems with payroll, including communication to clients with necessary action to be taken
    • Process manual batches per client requests. This can include termination checks, bonuses and commissions
    • Fulfill payroll report requests
    • Work with certified payroll reports
    • Process requests for entry of additional wages paid to employees
    • Process requests for entry of additional deductions to employees
    • Helps maintain the tracking of PTO
    • Assists with Time and Labor Management (TLM)
    • Updates company and employee information as needed

    Work Experience, Education and Skills

    WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

    High School diploma preferred with one to two years of office experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
