Optometrist – Community-Based Mobile Practice

An established healthcare organization is seeking a Full-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive vision services in a mobile clinic setting, traveling to schools, rural communities, and partner sites. This role combines strong clinical practice with meaningful community engagement—bringing essential eye care directly to underserved populations.

Position Overview
The Optometrist will:
Perform comprehensive eye exams and visual assessments for patients of all ages
Diagnose and manage ocular conditions including:
Glaucoma
Diabetic retinopathy
Macular degeneration
Ocular infections
Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other corrective devices
Educate patients on eye health, preventive care, and treatment plans
Refer patients for advanced ophthalmologic or medical care as indicated
Maintain thorough documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Mobile & Community Care Model
This role is primarily based in a mobile clinic, traveling to designated community sites such as:
Schools
Rural areas
Community partner organizations
You will work closely with support staff to ensure efficient setup, patient flow, and safe operations at each location. Providers may assist with coordination, equipment setup, and compliance with regulatory and infection control standards.

160 hours of PTO annually
8 paid holidays
Compensation & Benefits
$150,000 – $175,000 annual salary
Potential sign-on and/or relocation bonus
40 hours of CME annually with $2,500 reimbursement
