Mechanical Engineer Optopax - San Jose, CA 95131

Overview: • Full time Mechanical and Opto-Mechanical Engineering roles available. Part time support can also be considered. • Designing cameras, optical systems and testing for AR/VR optics, LiDAR, AI camera systems, Camera modules and other advanced optical systems. • Full scope of responsibilities including mechanical design, 3D CAD, FEA simulations, 3D printing, fabrication, managing machine shops, component assembly and testing. • Manage overseas resources and international travel required.

Duties include: • mechanical engineering design • writing reports • 3D printing and prototype development • running experiments, data collection and reporting • procure parts, work with suppliers to build samples • hands on lab work, assembly and testing

Experience / Attributes Required: • graduated from Engineering program in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, Optics, Physics or other equivalent Engineering discipline • extremely hands-on with strong computer skills and ability to pick up programming languages and new software effectively and efficiently • strong mechanical aptitude, good with microscopes and working with small parts. Careful attention to detail. • logical and clear problem-solving skills with exceptional communication skills • mechanical solid modeling experience with Solid Works, Fusion 360 or other CAD package is definitely required. • passionate about cool technology used in disruptive new consumer electronics devices • keen attitude, hardworking, willing to learn and explore
