    Opus 12 is a Berkeley, California based startup focused on recycling CO2 into higher-value products. We are scientists and engineers with a passion for green chemistry and a shared vision to re-write the story of waste carbon dioxide. Our team partners with industry leaders in electrolysis and plant design to implement our technology at scale.

    We are currently looking for an entry-level Testing Engineer on the Electrochemistry team. JOB BRIEF The Electrochemistry team is responsible for testing the performance of membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for Opus 12’s electrochemical CO2 reduction process under a range of conditions. As a Testing Engineer, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electrochemical cells containing MEAs, as well as disassembling the cells and processing the data after testing is complete. Quality control and attention to detail during testing are key to getting quality data. You will also be required to maintain an inventory of supplies needed for testing and maintain the work area in an organized manner. WHAT YOU WILL DO

    • Set up electrochemical tests of MEAs on a daily basis
    • Import data from electrochemical tests into spreadsheets and perform data analysis
    • Record all observations from the experiments
    • Use data plotting software to analyze results
    • Communicate status of equipment and any issues encountered during testing
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area
    • Maintain inventory of testing supplies

    WHO YOU ARE

    • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
    • Experience working in a chemical laboratory (electrochemistry lab preferred) or manufacturing setting
    • You have high attention to detail and strong organizational skills
    • You are able to communicate effectively with the team and follow directions/SOPs
    • You are proficient in using computer software such as MS Office products and data analysis software
    • You are able to lift up to 25 pounds as required by cell assembly
