Senior Android Developer
We are looking for a Mobile Application Senior Development Engineer (Android) to join development team that builds our customer facing our mobile apps and our in-studio applications. To be successful in this position, you must be proficient with Android, Java, Kotlin, Android Studio, Google Play store, and publishing apps. This is a senior position, so you must be very hands on with Android development, as well as able to engage in high level architectural design activities and mentor junior team members.
As a Mobile Application Development Senior Development Engineer, you’ll:
Contribute to the design and creation of advanced user-interactive mobile applications for the Android platform
Collaborate on decisions about mobile architecture for Android platforms
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
Interface with data sources, vendors and servers via APIs & RPCs
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
Work on bug fixing and improving application efficiency
Profile app memory usage, object references and optimize performance
Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency
Maintain technical documentation
Mentor junior developers
ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
Minimum of 7+ years relevant professional software engineering and mobile development experience, or a commensurate combination of education, training and experience
References for of at least 2 apps launched to the Google Play Store with a significant number of MAUs (> 5000)
Extensive knowledge of the Google Play Store Process, beta testing (TestFlight and/or Hockey) and publishing apps
Extensive knowledge in the Google Play store including beta testing as well as publishing a release
Knowledge of building an app for a range of Android versions and Android based devices
Proven hands-on software development experience with Android platforms
Software development experience in several of the following core languages: Java(Android) and Kotlin
Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, UI/UX, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
Solid understanding of the full mobile APP development life cycle
Experience in multiple mobile platforms is a plus
Experience with REST services integration utilizing JSON and/or XML
Experience with third-party libraries and API integration
Knowledge of OAuth authorization framework
Technical knowledge of techniques, standards and state-of-the art capabilities for authentication and authorization, applied cryptography, security vulnerabilities and remediation
Experience with beta testing release tools such as TestFlight and Hockey
Adept at working with databases, both relational and NOSQL
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
