Fitness Equipment Field Maintenance Technician
The Fitness Equipment Field Maintenance Technician is ultimately responsible for ensuring that repairs and maintenance service is sufficient to keep all exercise equipment, throughout the assigned region is functional and working at all times. Maximum up-time is essential to contribute to member satisfaction and retention. Maintaining world-class and like-new conditions is an expectation that we strive to uphold across all locations.
Main Duties
Able to work independently and manage priorities and take charge as necessary. Excellent communication skills
Provide repair and maintenance service on cardio and strength equipment
Service can be assigned on a scheduled or unscheduled basis based on priority type and needs of the field, and is constantly tracked using logs, reports and information management systems, and evaluated for effectiveness and quality through inspections, service and equipment reliability key performance indicators (KPI’s) and direct feedback from field management and gym members.
Routine training of staff on preventative maintenance techniques and light repairs is required as well.
Excellent/proven at interacting with others in a service environment to include: members, management, staff and suppliers
Excellent/proven administration, coordination and logistical skills in a service/help desk environment
Excellent/proven time management skills and working independently with minimal or no supervision
Proficient with using computer hardware and business software applications such as databases, spreadsheets, and e-mail.
Capable of effectively handling the physical demands of the job, which can involve lifting 150lbs, constant bending and lifting, and working from knees or low to the floor
Escalation of unresolved issues to Studio Manager.
Service is provided using own car and tools.
Non-standard work week (could include weekends, nights, over 40 hours per week, on-call)
Be willing to do whatever is needed to ensure world-class and like-new conditions in the studios
Education:
High school degree or equivalent required
Experience:
2+ years of mechanical, service industry experience
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license
Ability to team lift up-to 150 pounds at times during the work day.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb and use hands and arms to operate warehouse equipment, move inventory, product & displays. Must have the strength and stamina to safely lift 150 pounds at least 4 times in a single 8-hour shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus for regular use of computer screen.
