Position Purpose: As a Mechanical and Test Technician, you will support the engineering team in fabrication, modification, assembly, testing and prototyping of flight hardware for complicated mechanisms. Working within the engineering group, you'll be tasked with component modifications and building assemblies, providing feedback and updates for procedures, performing component and assembly testing for function as well as flight qualifications. This position will allow you to work independently and exercise your judgment, as well as be part of a cross-specialty team to solve the engineering problems that accompany products in space.
Job Responsibilities:
Required Qualifications:
US Person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
4+ years working in an engineering field and/or precision mechanical assembly environment
Ability to read and work to engineering documentation
Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts
Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities
Familiarity with small tools used for hand-held assembly
Experience using metrology tools (Micrometers, Calipers, Multi-meters, etc.)
Basic Knowledge of GD&T (ANSI/ASME Y14.5)
High standard of workmanship is a must
Must have standard test equipment experience
Collaborative and team focused
Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, strategic, and statistical skills
An effective sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, small company environment
