    GN&C, SIMULATIONS, AND ORBITAL MECHANICS ENGINEER

    We're looking for the best minds, backed by a practical can-do attitude You would be responsible for orbit determination and GN&C system development, simulation and mathematical modeling, and performance analysis to understand and solve the challenges associated with refueling spacecraft in orbit. A large part of this will be to ensure compliance with existing and emerging rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking (RPOD) operations and systems

    • Assist in the development, verification, and validation of RAFTI and Orbit Fab tanker system architecture and detailed design for compatibility with RPOD operations.
    • Architect and implement Hardware-in-the-loop testing.
    • Support the development, verification, and integration of RAFTI and Tanker 6 DOF docking simulations and associated math models.
    • Participate in the analysis of Orbit Fab on-orbit operations and mission architectures, including Orbital Mechanics and constellation design.
    • Identify and resolve GN&C performance-related issues and assist others in the resolution of issues, including ADCS.
    • Ability to concisely document the results of all verification, validation and analysis activities.
    • Directly interact with the customers, both government and commercial.
    • Directly interact with contractors, including managing.

    EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:

    • Experience developing GN&C algorithms and analyzing system performance for spacecraft in an integrated GN&C environment.

    • Experience developing, verifying, and validating simulation math models.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    • Ability to work in a team environment.

    • Hands-on experience building flight hardware and/or software, ground test equipment or similar.

    • Must be a U.S. Citizen/Person and able to successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

    • BS degree in engineering from an accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related engineering experience, or

    • MS degree from an accredited engineering school and four (4) years of related engineering experience, or

    • Ph.D. from an accredited engineering school and zero (0) years of related experience.

    NICE TO HAVE:

    • MS in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on GN&C, flight controls, orbital mechanics.
    • Familiarity with Rendezvous, Proximity Operations, and Docking flight operations and procedures.
    • Direct experience with LINUX, Python, C and it's derivatives.
    • Expertise with MATLAB and Simulink toolboxes.
    • Experience with GMAT, STK or other applicable system.
    • Active Security Clearance.
    • Experience with requirements management, decomposition, and communication. At Orbit Fab, systems engineering excellence is expected at all levels and positions.
