JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for all order processing within the Distribution Center. Activities will involve pulling medicines and medical supplies from stock listed on order pick tickets and palletizing product for large volume shipments. The position is also responsible for packing and preparing custom and pre-packed orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ORDER PACKING / LARGE VOLUME ORDER PROCESSING
- Packs and prepares UPS and FedEx orders for shipment
- Meets order shipping deadlines indicated in the special instructions section of the order control sheet
- Packs and prepares cold chain orders for shipment
- Assist with volunteer activities
- Secures and reviews orders to determine items to be picked and mode of shipment
- Pick and prepare large volume and container orders for shipment, ensuring that all documentation has been completed correctly.
- Assist in loading of container and truckload shipments, and palletized orders. Works with the Logistics Department to ensure timely pickups and proper documentation
OTHER DUTIES
- Helps maintain security of Distribution Center by monitoring access to and departures from the receiving and shipping departments.
- Responsible for deadlines being met in areas of responsibility
- Assists in other areas of Distribution Center as needed to alleviate backlogs in work flow
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Compacts/bails cardboard
- Obeys safety and security policies
- Operates forklifts and pick trucks safely and reports all equipment maintenance problems their supervisor
- Performs various Distribution Center housekeeping duties including sweeping and cleaning of floors
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position will report to the DC Supervisor and will be part of the Operations Team. The Order Processor will not have any direct reports.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- One to three years related experience and/or training
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Follow specific direction and complete orders as requested
- Prioritize work and complete assignments on a timely basis
- Knowledge of general office machines (computers, printers, fax, copiers, etc.)
- Maintain accurate, legible records
- Experience in computer program operations and applications
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Exhibit a general knowledge of safety and security issues
- Work harmoniously with supervisor and co-workers
- Work diligently with little supervision
