GCHS is looking for an Ordering Specialist in the Dietary Department. This person is responsible for managing food and supply orders to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and maintains appropriate inventory levels. This role works closely with dietary staff, vendors, and management to ensure all food products and supplies are ordered accurately, delivered on time, and meet quality and budget standards.
This position can be part-time or full-time with flexible hours, providing a great work/life balance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned.
Looks at food expiration dates to ensure food quality and implements a system for tracking expirations, removing, and disposing to mitigate food wastage and ensure compliance.
Helps deliver Meals on Wheels when needed and assists with managing the schedule and contacting volunteers as needed.
Continually looks for ways to improve food quality and collaborates with the manager to support quality initiatives.
Communicates with staff if any shortages, delays, or changes to the menu proactively to mitigate issues, and helps staff identify substitutions and solutions when supply chain issues arise.
Adapts to changes in the work environment and can deal with frequent change, delays, and unexpected events, assisting other staff to adapt as well.
Helps to train other staff as needed on ordering processes.
