    THE ORDWAY: The Ordway, recognized as one of the U.S.’s leading not-for-profit performing arts centers, is home to a wide variety of performances throughout the year that encompass the finest in musical theater, world music, dance, and vocal artists. Performances take place in the 1,900-seat Music Theater and a 1,100-seat Concert Hall. The Ordway is committed to providing a welcome and inclusive environment for all patrons, artists, and employees.

    POSITION PURPOSE: The Marketing Associate’s temporary position will be involved in the Ordway’s marketing plans and events (Broadway, Concerts, Subscription, the Family Festival). Work with the VP of Marketing and the rest of the Marketing Team to review plans and budgets, research marketing opportunities, plan and participate in special events, prepare reports and PowerPoint presentations. Follow institutional branding to result in increased awareness of, and engagement with, the Ordway to foster a larger audience base and increase ticket sales.

    POSITION DETAILS:

    • POSTING DATE: 8/30/2021
    • CLOSING DATE: Open until filled, this position will remain open until the Ordway has seen a diverse pool of candidates
    • EMPLOYEE TYPE: Part-time, temporary, nonexempt
    • PAY: $15-$18 per hour
    • DEPARTMENT: Marketing 
    • REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing and Communications

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:  

    • As requested, review media plans as outlined by Marketing Manager resulting in efficient scheduling and adherence to deadlines.
    • Execute event plans and distribution of materials for the marketing department, in alignment with overall department goals as well as specific goals for each event.
    • Serve as project manager on select marketing, sales, and audience development initiatives.
    • Provide administrative support to VP of Marketing.
    • Assist the Marketing team in executing and monitoring communication plans that support the Ordway's goals and objectives.
    • The Ordway is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and inclusive objectives of the organization and promote a culture of respect.

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to compose, write and edit documents with appropriate grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, clarity and creativity.
    • Ability to proof read and correct written work.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher and Word).
    • High degree of sensitivity for confidentiality.
    • Ability to identify, evaluate, investigate and offer alternative solutions to problems.
    • Ability to represent the Ordway in a professional manner.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and varying workload.
    • Exceptional customer service skills required.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to develop timelines, meet deadlines, and archive information in an organized manner.
    • Project management and traffic experience preferred.
    • Effectively communicate creative feedback to design partners.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
    • Bachelor’s degree or candidate for degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Journalism or related field preferred.
    • Experience in marketing/advertising/sales or customer service preferred.
    • Reliable transportation required.
    • Experience in the arts preferred.
