    St. John’s UCC in Denver, PA, is seeking an Organist/Music Director to lead the musical life of our average sized main-line church.

    About the Role The Organist/Music Director oversees all musical aspects of worship (traditional and contemporary), providing organ and piano music, directing multiple choirs, and collaborating closely with church leadership.

    Note: While we ideally seek one individual to fill this role, we are open to considering multiple individuals to share their talents to collectively support our music ministry.     Key Responsibilities

    Provide organ and piano music for Sunday worship and special holiday services.

    Direct the adult vocal choir, adult bell choir, and senior bell choir.

    Coordinate special music, including guest musicians and school district ensembles

    Select worship music in collaboration with the Pastor and Worship Team

    Maintain and schedule tuning/repairs for organ, piano, bells, and chimes

    Maintain music library

    Attend staff and Worship Team meetings as needed

    Provide music for weddings and funerals for additional compensation

    Qualifications

    Strong organ and piano performance skills

    Experience directing choirs and bell choirs

    Formal music education or equivalent training

    Knowledge of worship traditions, liturgical seasons, and diverse church music styles

    Collaborative, dependable, and enthusiastic about Christian worship

    Ability to pass Pennsylvania childcare clearances
