Foreign Relations Internship-KA-6-4 Organization for International Cooperation - New York, NY Full-time, Internship The unleashed power of the atom has changed everything save our modes of thinking. Thus we drift towards unparalleled catastrophe. -Albert Einstein, 1948 It is not every day that an opportunity comes along to be part of a project that can make a global difference. A difference for the survival and well being of mankind! Our project is about advocating the use of breakthrough programs by foreign policymakers, negotiators, security strategists and other important government and multi-lateral institution officials. We are seeking applicants who are totally clear about the level of danger facing our world today. There are far too many people who are oblivious to the high level of danger facing humanity! OUR WORLD TODAY Considering Einsteins quote above, in 1948 we did not have 9 nuclear armed states. We did not have terrorists wreaking havoc in numerous countries. We did not have terrorists pursuing Weapons of Mass Destruction. We did not have Cyber-Warfare and Electromagnetic Pulse Weapons. New types of weapons are continually being developed. To make things worse there are literally millions of people steeped in denial. Various forms of denial resulted in the attack on Pearl Harbor, 9-11 and Germany overtaking much of Europe in World War II. Instead of recognizing the many threats facing humanity, the average person believes their government will resolve the threats. That is not what is happening! People need to face the fact that their governments and multilateral institutions did not prevent the many tragedies mankind has faced past and present! THE LEVEL OF PROBLEM SOLVING EFFECTIVENESS DEMONSTRATED BY OFFICIALS IS INSUFFICIENT TO PREVENT OR RESOLVE OUR MOST SERIOUS SECURITY AND OTHER IMPORTANT CHALLENGES. GOVERNMENT PROBLEM SOLVER REQUIREMENTS Problem solving effectiveness depends on the following: 1-The problem solver must have sufficient training and experience in their profession. 2-The problem solver must be functioning at the level or scope of conscious awareness necessary to accurately identify all the most pertinent issues. Problems continually unresolved reflects the fact that critical information is being bypassed or misconstrued. OIC FOREIGN RELATIONS BREAKTHROUGH PROJECT Many people were convinced for thousands of years that it will always be very difficult to prevent or effectively resolve armed conflicts and many humanitarian challenges.Yet for thousands of years, people believed the earth was flat, that only birds could fly, that traveling under the seas or far into space was not possible. Such opinions and many others have long been proven to be unfounded. The aim of our project is to make it possible for countries habitually in conflict with their adversaries to transcend their differences and become powerfully related and aligned with each other for their mutual benefit. With the successful development of ontology based programs, it is possible today for foreign policymakers and other key government officials to effectively diminish the issues that stand between them and their adversaries. Through the various ontology based programs that focus on communication, diplomatic solutions will be many times more effective than ever before. This means that millions of lives can be spared the misery of armed conflicts, the destruction of cities, becoming refugees, the abuse of human rights and end decades of hostility. Among the various benefits of ontology based programs, the processes used dramatically expand the participant's level of conscious awareness. This is extremely important because it makes it possible for the official participants to accurately identify what would be necessary to produce unprecedented breakthrough results. The officials would become able to recognize critical issues bypassed or misconstrued that continually undermine the effectiveness of policies, negotiations and strategies. The programs have been used with consistent and outstanding success worldwide in corporations, non-profits and select government agencies since the 1970s. POSITIONS Our Program Associates are assigned to one of the following positions 1-Program Associates call the officials of assigned governments and multilateral institutions. They share information about the breakthrough programs we advocate. Those based in New York, Washington or other world capitals may also meet with officials depending on project needs. 2-Other Program Associates research information on potential donors, foreign policy experts, international studies professors, counter-terrorism officials and government officials at foreign ministries and national security agencies. They are also assigned to keep us up to date on regional challenges. 3-There are Program Associates who focus mainly on telephone fundraising. They call IR and Poli-Sci professors, think tank experts and others. 4-Program Associates work on our Young Diplomat Project. PROGRAM ASSOCIATE VALUE 1-Program Associates learn how to relate with important US or foreign government officials. 2-They have the opportunity to develop important government and expert contacts. 3-They expand their research skills. 4-They develop an understanding of breakthrough resources and new modes of communication.
