Origins Behavioral HealthCare provides a comprehensive continuum of individualized alcohol and drug addiction treatment programs and recovery support services for adults, including those with co-occurring disorders.

We are seeking an experienced Line Cook for our South Padre Island treatment facility, the position is part time and benefits eligible. The primary function of this position is to prepare daily menus within sanitary, safety and time guidelines.

Origins is a professional, team-oriented environment . Flexible schedules required including weekends and holidays.

The candidate selected for this position must be able to perform the following duties at a high level:

Assume responsibility for items cooked and served.

Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation guidelines.

Maintain sufficient food levels during service times according to daily census.

Maintain a clean and sanitary work area including but not limited to walk in, reach in refrigerators, tables, shelves, grills, ovens, fryer’s, steamer, racks, and sinks.

Correctly store, handle and rotate food items.

Has an understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment.

Assist in the correct storage of food items during delivery.

Handle foods in a manner that is consistent with Safe Serv and local authority guidelines.

Comply with department’s dress code.

Perform other job related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

At least two (2) years of working experience in food preparation

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Valid ServSafe food handler certificate

If in recovery, two (2) years of continuous sobriety preferred

Bilingual preferred
