    The Position:

    This position reports to the Executive Director. Primary goals of the COD is contacting and developing relationships with referral sources in the community and region to generate client referrals to the facility. The COD will facilitate outreach initiatives, support admissions activity and collaborate with the clinical team in order to enhance referent relationships.

    This position is ideally suited for individuals who are highly self-motivated, successful at building relationships, gifted at communicating and teaching, and find a deep sense of satisfaction assisting those suffering from substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders find lasting freedom. Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Work with Executive Director in supporting overall outreach philosophy and strategic plan.

    • Create and implement overall targeted regions strategy to support outreach philosophy of relationship management and new business prospecting.

    • Develop and create consistent referral relationships and provide updated information regarding current programs and services.

    • Support local RGV community with outreach and prevention education

    • Support admissions activity working with prospective clients and their families

    • Act as a part of the multi-disciplinary team when requested to support active cases and family involvement

    • Provide education and support to local RGV families who have loved ones in our care

    • Represent the organization in a professional manner at civic and professional functions when requested.

    • Prepare and submit all reports, expense accounts and management requested information on a monthly basis.

    • Coordinate and host referral source visitors to all Origins facilities.

    • Assist the Alumni Department in promoting events.

    • Spend a minimum of 70% of his/her time in the field building relationships within the community.

    • Maintains a thorough working knowledge of Origins’ treatment programs and services.

    • Participates in other events and education activities as assigned.

    • Attends weekly development conference calls.

    • Uphold all Origins Behavioral HealthCare Policies and Procedures

    • Maintain client/potential client confidentiality in accordance with Origins’ Policy

    Education/Experience/Qualifications:

    · Bilingual preferred

    · Master’s degree preferred; or

    · Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years' experience and/or State Certification required.

    • Current license by the State of Texas as a Qualified Credentialed Counselor (LCDC, LPC, LCSW, LMFT) and be in good standing.

    • Minimum of five (5) years of public relations experience.

    • If in recovery, one (1) year of continuous sobriety preferred.

    • Clinical knowledge and understanding of 12-Step program preferred.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Knowledge, experience & competence in the specific areas of adult treatment, adult co-morbid complications, & family systems theory.

    • Proven success in direct personal selling, relationship management and new business prospecting.

    • Willingness to travel.

    • Demonstrated public speaking skills.

    • Proven ability to work without close supervision.

    • This person should also have a working knowledge of the 12-step program.

    • Proficiency in computer skills and major programs such as Word and Excel

    · Ability to network and interact with the recovery community of a local, state, national, and international level.

    · Must have fluid communication skills that foster teamwork and high morale.

    · Must be able to promote the continuum in the media such as radio, television, and print.

    · Must be able to set an example as a leader so that others that report to them want to follow with enthusiasm.

    · Must possess a high degree of leadership skills both in theory and practice.

    · Must be thoroughly familiar and be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles and programs of the various 12-step fellowships.
