    The Position

    We are looking for an experienced Housekeeper to join our team; the position is full time (32 hrs.) and benefits eligible.

    The primary function of this position is to provide a clean, sanitary, comfortable, orderly, and safe environment for the patients, staff and visitors.

    Origins is a professional, team-oriented environment.

    The position schedule is Sunday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

    Flexibility to rotate shifts/days when needed is required.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    The candidate selected for this position must be able to perform the following duties at a high level:

    Daily cleaning of client rooms, restrooms, offices, group rooms and kitchens

    Vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, mopping, cleaning vents, walls, floors and light fixtures, empty waste baskets.

    Operate various mechanical cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, etc.

    Keep housekeeping cart clean and stocked

    Perform laundry duties regularly with commercial machinery

    Display positive attitude toward all patients, visitors and staff

    Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, patients and visitors.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

    Understand and follow the procedures for reporting hazardous or unsafe conditions to maintenance.

    Ability to work with minimum supervision.

    Basic computer skills required

    Candidate requirements

    Must be able to cover weekends and holidays when necessary.

    Ability to walk and climb stairs throughout the day

    Reach with hands and arms, bend and pull items

    Must be able to safely handle/lift/push up to 50 lbs.

    Must have reliable transportation

    The Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Must have basic computer skills

    Must be able to speak, read, and write English

    Minimum one (1) year experience in institutional Housekeeping or similar position

    Laundry experience helpful but not required

    If in recovery, one (1) year continuous sobriety preferred.
