Orion Engineers, PLLC has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Project Engineer in our Lisle office and/or in the field as required. Reporting to the Project Manager for the Illinois Tollway’s in-house engineering department, we seek a Entry-Level Engineer to assist Orion’s Civil and Transportation Engineering team as the General Engineering Consultant. In this role, you will have the opportunity to hone your technical skills through collaboration with engineers industry-wide and raise your professional profile in an agency and industry-facing position.
RESPONSIBILITIES Working with a dynamic team of engineers on a diverse range of projects, Staff Engineers at Orion assist the Transportation team in various tasks by researching, compiling, and examining various transportation data. Specific tasks could include:
Provide consulting advice to the IL Tollway in the written and oral presentations
Participate in design reviews from concept to advertisement and oversee design development
Lead innovative special assignments
Assist in managing annual updates of standards and manuals
Effectively communicate to a wide range of professionals, inside and outside the organization
Work closely with multi-disciplinary team members on transportation infrastructure projects
Prepare and review construction specifications
QUALIFICATIONS
5-8 years of prior experience in Transportation Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Construction Management from an ABET-accredited institution
EIT/PE Licensure preferred
Ability to work independently and take the initiative to perform tasks
CADD experience
Valid Driver’s License
