Orion Wholesale is a leading wholesale distributor in the shooting sports industry. Our company is expanding and seeking a Business Development Intern to join our sales team! We recently opened a state-of-the-art distribution center and corporate office in Jeffersonville, Indiana, which will enable business growth for decades to come. This is an exciting opportunity for our intern to be a part of Orion’s bright future! The business development intern at Orion Wholesale will work on a variety of tasks and projects alongside others in our sales department while playing an integral part in our company’s success.

In this role, our Business Development Intern will use lead generation tools to develop and actively work on a target list to generate warm leads. You’ll embrace your competitive mindset to self-generate high value leads. Working with an experienced sales team, you’ll gain exposure to sales and the firearms wholesale industry.

Daily Activities:

• Shadow existing account managers to learn how to pitch and negotiate
• Review different regions with the Sales Manager to identify new and existing targets
• Work with our marketing team to facilitate email and social media campaigns
• Provide support for the sales department, by assisting with any information, documentation or follow-up calls as needed
• Collaborate with the marketing team and Sales Director to identify market trends
• Work alongside our accounting department and CPA to run production reports

Qualifications:

• Have a passion for sales with experience in customer service
• Be a rising junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in business, sales, entrepreneurship, or a similar field
• Pass a background check & drug screen
• Proficient with computer applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Business Central)
• Functional knowledge of different firearm & ammunition brands and products

This position is hiring for part-time hours based on class credit requirement. The opportunity for more hours and career advancement in a permanent position with Orion upon graduation will be considered.
