    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for processing US timekeeping and payroll in accordance with applicable payroll tax law and SOX procedures.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Process and distribute complex multi-state and multi-company payroll timely, accurately, and according to SOX procedures
    • Process employee new hire and maintenance transactions for the payroll and timekeeping systems
    • Prepares SOX payroll binder for audit prior to payroll processing
    • Responsible for ensuring the timekeeping system calculates hours according to state and federal laws
    • Reconcile quarterly and year end state and federal taxes and other payroll related activities, and file tax or W2 amendments as necessary
    • Independently conduct appropriate audits to ensure data integrity
    • Ensure that timecards are approved by the employee and manager in a timely manner and follow up on any missing approvals until each pay period is 100% complete
    • Responsible for routine payroll and timekeeping system administration (e.g. password resets, schedules, new pay and task codes)
    • Responsible for timekeeping training required
    • Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll and timekeeping matters in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality
    • Responsible for process improvements, documenting processes/desktop procedures, keeping processes/desktop procedures updated, and identifying ways to reduce costs
    • Provides excellent internal and external customer service
    • Preparation of management reports as required
    • Files all payroll related documents in the appropriate locations
    • Downloads all companies’ payroll reports from payroll vendor system on a bi-weekly basis
    • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and more than 40 hours per week if necessary to get the job done

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Supports the Human Resources team as needed and perform other duties as assigned
    • Cross train in other tasks
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • A degree in Accounting or other related field with a minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience or the equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Experience processing multi-state payroll and electronic timekeeping
    • Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
    • Experieince with Enhanced Time preferred
    • Advanced knowledge of payroll and employment tax laws and required payroll record keeping; FLSA knowledge a must
    • Ability to deal with highly confidential information in a professional and discrete manner
    • Ability to think creatively to solve problems
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
    • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and prioritize
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills a must
    • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative when appropriate
    • Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentations. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and use of the Internet
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel and spreadsheets is required
    • Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to safely and efficiently perform job duties
    • Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT auto insurance carrier
    • Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner
    • Must have the ability to travel to other locations

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • The ability to work at a computer, and computer monitor, and use repetitive motion for long periods of time
    • The ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
    • This position requires sitting 90% of the time and standing and walking 10% of the time
    • The ability to travel to various work sites as needed
