    Job Description

    Orthopedic Physical Therapy Institute (OPTI) is a busy, fun, team oriented outpatient physical and occupational therapy office looking for a motivated and energetic therapy technician.

    While working as a PT Technician, you would be providing patient care services under the direct supervision of a physical therapist. The therapy technician will assist in preparing treatment areas, patients, equipment, and materials, and will support the provider in patient treatment. You must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment

    You will be helping patients perform exercises with proper form, so knowledge of basic exercises or a background in the sports or medical field is preferred.

    You may need to occasionally perform front office duties such as checking patients in and out, answering phones and taking payments. Other job duties include cleaning patient areas, laundry, and keeping supplies stocked.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    •Assists Physical Therapists

    •Answers Phones

    •Schedules patients using web based scheduling program

    •Check-in patientsTake payments

    •Scan documents

    •Other duties as assigned

    *Qualifications and Skills

    •High school diploma

    •Efficient in the use of standard office equipment

    •CNA or other medical experience preferred

    Essential Qualifications:

    •Regular and predictable attendance.

    •Frequent reaching, stooping and twisting when assisting with patients, answering the telephone, etc.

    •Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

    •Read a variety of printed and handwritten materials and take verbal instruction.

    •Communicate with patients, therapists, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on the telephone.

    Essential Functions (Physical):

    · Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function.

    · Majority of the shift is spent sitting.

    · Frequent reaching, stooping and twisting when filing, accessing records and answering telephone

    · Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.

    · Read a variety of printed and handwritten materials, computerized reports, manuals, and correspondence.

    · Communicates with patients, physicians, families and co-workers in person and on the telephone.

    Work Environment:

    · Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine operates in a professional office environment. Days and hours of work are conducted Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    · This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    · Orthopedic Surgery & Sports Medicine has multiple locations and travel may be required.
