Job Description: Responsibilities: * Fabricates and repairs prosthetic devices following prescription criteria, practitioner specifications and established timetables. * Technicians are supplied with a measurement sheet, body cast, body tracing or a job card sent in by a prosthetist . Then they will be required to use their skills to manufacture the required prostheses, which can be manufactured using a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, leather, carbon fiber and composite materials * The technician must be good at operating machinery such as power tools and need a high level of hand-eye coordination. * Mixes pigments according to formula to duplicate skin coloring of patient. * Tests prostheses for freedom of movement, alignment of parts, and biomechanical stability, using plumb line and alignment fixtures. * Maintains and orders adequate supplies of fabrication materials and components. * Other duties as assigned. * All employees must be aware, have knowledge and shall have received general training in Quality requirements of Össur. Training takes place in the Onboarding process and in New Employee Orientation. More specific Quality training is job specific. * All training related to the quality management system is done in accordance to the Training Management Process (QM1681). * Exercises good use of company funds and property within the set guidelines. Maintains an honest and professional attitude as the companys representative at all times. * Contributes to a safe working environment by maintaining own workspace and reporting any potential hazards. Qualifications: * Graduate of high school or GED * 2 5 years as an ABC Certified Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician, or equivalent experience. * Self-motivated and dependable with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work well as a team member and leader. * Ability to perform in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner. * Some experience in a manufacturing environment would be helpful.
