Job Title: Polling Intern
Reports To: Policy Shop Chief and Managing Editor
Job Description:
Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. We take into account some of America’s most pressing issues and aim to solve them in an easily understood and non-partisan manner. As part of our attempt to remain inclusive and nonpartisan, we’ve set a goal of coming up with proposals that 60 percent or more Americans can agree on. This causes our proposals to be somewhat moderate, politically. We are assembling a team of polling interns. As a polling intern you will be researching existing polls that reflect how Americans stand politically on certain issues. You will be a valuable addition to our Policy Teams as we strive to have our proposals come as close as they can to representing the true wishes of the American people.
This position is primarily aimed towards students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Political Science, and Data Analyst related fields. Experience in Statistics, polling, analytical research, or writing is also a plus. This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication.
The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more depending on their performance. Many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to. Preferably, this intern will commit to at least August 31, 2023.
