    Job Description

    Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. The Social Media Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by building a strong social media presence on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook and Youtube. Interns will help with content creation and rollout strategy. We want fun and interactive social media accounts that foster a strong community! Interns may have the opportunity to become the face of one or more of our platforms if desired.

     

    This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Interns must commit to at least the end of the Fall semester (December 16th, 2022).

    Responsibilities:

    • Helping carry out the vision and strategy of the Social Media Team Lead and Director of Media

    • Creating content for various social media platforms

    • Staying on top of trending topics across all social platforms

    • Completing deliverables marked on the content calendar and suggesting ideas for approval on the content calendar

    • Effectively communicating with other ONC team members (Slack, email)

     

    Compensation: This is not a paid position.

    Qualifications

    Requirements: 

    • Responsive and consistent communicator

    • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines

    • Dependable and flexible intern

    • Experience with common Social Media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etc.)

    • Understanding of influencers, marketing, branding, and content creation is crucial

    • Strong writing skills are preferred

    • If you want to be one of the “faces” of our social accounts, articulate speaking skills and fun energy are required

    • Ability to attend weekly organization-wide meetings

    • Ability to attend weekly Social Media Team meetings
