    Job Description

    Job Title: Polling Intern

Reports To: Polling Team Lead and the Managing Editor

    Job Description:

Our National Conversation is building a nonpartisan solution platform for American policy issues. We take into account some of America’s most pressing issues and aim to solve them in an easily understood and nonpartisan manner. As part of our attempt to remain inclusive and nonpartisan, we’ve set a goal of coming up with proposals that 60 percent or more Americans can agree on. This causes our proposals to be somewhat moderate, politically. As a polling intern you will be researching existing polls that reflect how Americans stand politically on certain issues. You will be a valuable addition to our Core Content Department as we strive to have our proposals come as close as they can to representing the true wishes of the American people.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. This intern must commit to at least the end of the Srping semester (April 30th, 2024). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Benefits : Flexible schedule, college credit, professional networking, and resume-building experience.

Compensation: This is not a paid position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate on a team of 4-8 interns led by a Team Lead.
    • Research and analyze current polling data on American political ideologies as they relate to the Core Content subject areas.
    • Develop and conduct monthly polls tracking demographic and opinion information among ONC’s participants and affiliates.
    • Research and compile reports on public opinion data to help identify consistent partisan skews in content produced by ONC.
    • Develop and administer public opinion and political policy surveys.
    • Analyze and provide recommendations based on research data compilations.
    • Prioritize ONC's commitment to nonpartisanship, ideological diversity, and civil debate.
