    Job Description:

    The Business Operations Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by assisting the Chief Operating Officer with organizing meetings and the Chief Operating Officer's calendar, and various administrative and business development tasks. The Business Operations Intern is responsible for scheduling meetings and interviews, messaging various directors and team leads throughout the day, maintaining various records and coordinating tasks that assist the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the administration and daily operations of ONC. This intern will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) while also coordinating with the CEO and other directors and team leads regarding the Chief Operating Officer's daily schedule.

    This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. This intern must commit to at least the end of the Spring semester (April 30th, 2024). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining the Chief Operating Officer's daily schedule and calendar
    • Coordinating effectively with the Chief Operating Officer, Directors, and Team Leads regarding dates/times for events and meetings to update Chief Operating Officer's calendar
    • Maintaining contact with the Chief Operating Officer throughout the day to coordinate their schedule and give reminders regarding daily appointments and meetings
    • Coordinating with mentors, experienced professionals, and other people within the organization and educational community to set meetings and appointments for Chief Operating Officer
    • Assisting with HR related tasks as needed
    • Assisting with content creation related tasks as needed
    • Assist Chief Operating Officer in managing email inbox
    • Attend weekly organization-wide team meetings
    • Attend weekly leadership meetings
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Requirements: The Business Operations Intern should have the following skills, education, and experience:

    • Interest in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Resources, or working towards a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management and/or related fields
    • Experience with Microsoft Outlook preferred
    • Ability to maintain an organized schedule and calendar
    • Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict
    • Proficient with email and professional writing skills
    • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
    • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
    • Proficient in G-Suite preferred
    • Great organization skills
    • Ability to keep information confidential
