    Job Title: Social Media Marketing Intern

    Reports to: Social Media Team Lead and Director of Media

    Job Description:

    Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. The Social Media Marketing Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by building a strong social media presence on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, Youtube & LinkedIn. In this role, you will assist in the development of social media content that helps ONC increase brand awareness, encourages engagement and interaction, builds positive brand sentiment, and helps bring the ONC mission to deliver non-partisan news and policy solutions to life.

    This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Interns must commit to at least the end of the Summer semester (August 31, 2023).

    Compensation: This is not a paid position.

    Responsibilities:

    • Helping carry out the vision and strategy of the Director of Media
    • Creating content for various social media platforms
    • Canva experience preferred
    • Research latest trends, digital content, competitor analysis, present & execute new social media campaign ideas
    • Staying on top of trending topics across all social platforms
    • Completing deliverables marked on the content calendar and suggesting ideas for approval on the content calendar
    • Effectively communicating with other ONC team members (Slack, email)

    Qualifications

    • Responsive and consistent communicator
    • Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines
    • Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
    • Dependable and flexible intern
    • Experience with common Social Media platforms (Instagram, TikTok etc.)
    • Understanding of influencers, marketing, branding, and content creation is crucial
    • If you want to be one of the “faces” of our social accounts, articulate speaking skills and fun energy are required
    • Ability to attend weekly organization-wide meetings
    • Ability to attend weekly Social Media Team meetings
    • Bringing samples of previous content created is recommended and encouraged.
