JOB TITLE: Healthcare Policy Intern (Policy Shop)

REPORTS TO: Healthcare Policy Team Lead

JOB DESCRIPTION: Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. The Healthcare Policy Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by analyzing public policy issues and forming solutions that include liberal, moderate, and conservative perspectives. Ever wonder why health insurance is so expensive? The Healthcare Policy Shop handles all topics of healthcare, ranging from medicine to politics to economics to ethics to even technology. This team analyzes specific historical and technical instances of healthcare policy that should be reformed, and we try to answer the following question: how much does it cost to live? As a member of the Healthcare Policy team, you will be tasked with researching and summarizing hot-button issues, crafting opinion and solution pieces, helping write a chapter for our new book, and interviewing with experts. You may be tasked with other projects as needed.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more depending on their performance. Many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to. Preferably, this intern will commit to at least the end of the Spring semester (April 30th, 2023). 

COMPENSATION: This is not a paid position.
