JOB TITLE: Social Issues Policy Intern (Policy Shop)

REPORTS TO: Social Issues Policy Team Lead

DESCRIPTION: Our National Conversation is building a non-partisan solution platform for American policy issues. The Social Issues Policy Intern contributes to ONC’s mission of providing non-partisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by analyzing public policy issues and forming solutions that include liberal, moderate, and conservative perspectives. If you’re concerned about how certain laws affect everyday ordinary citizens day to day life and have a hunger for change, this is the position for you. Social policy is a blend of all the policies. We discuss the social facets of education, housing and many more aspects that affect the everyday citizen. As a member of the Social Issues Policy team, you would be tasked with researching and summarizing hot-button issues, crafting opinion and solution pieces, helping write chapters for our next books, and interviewing with experts. You may be tasked with other projects as needed.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more depending on their performance. Many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to. Preferably, this intern will commit to at least the end of the Spring semester (April 30th, 2023). 

COMPENSATION: This is not a paid position.
