    The Ministry: OurCalling is a ministry specifically focused on the unsheltered homeless community. We operate an outreach center for the homeless community near downtown Dallas. We are passionate about loving and helping the unsheltered homeless transition to better lives. We are a faith-based ministry where every job is a ministry position. Each staff member should be able to clearly share the Gospel and communicate their own testimony. While everyone on the team wears multiple hats, our primary function is getting people off the street and helping them walk with Jesus. We want everything that we do to point to Jesus. We serve 200-400 guests daily. We are a “no-barrier” facility that is welcoming and compassionate to all who enter.

    Job Overview:

    As an Operations Logistics Associate for OurCalling, your primary responsibility will be support our mission by efficiently moving resources from their current location to where they are needed most. Your role will play a crucial part in ensuring that our ministry operates smoothly and effectively, allowing us to provide essential services and support to our homeless community. As part of the Operations Team, you will work closely with other ministry staff to coordinate and execute various logistics activities, such as picking up in-kind donations, food donations (including picking up our biweekly Sam’s donation), and helping supply and support our Inclement Weather Service events. This is a hands-on role that requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate heart to serve those in need.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist in the coordination and execution of logistics operations, including but not limited to transportation, inventory management, and delivery and relocation of resources.
    • Collaborate with the Operations team, including the Chef, Resources Coordinator, and Senior Operations Manager to develop and implement efficient logistics plans to meet the needs of our homeless neighbors.
    • Coordinate with staff and other team members to understand their needs for resources and assist in planning the logistics accordingly.
    • Provide logistical support for events like the Annual Benefit, Inclement Weather Service, and other off-site and on-site events.
    • Assist in unloading, organizing, and storing incoming donations, ensuring that they are properly sorted and easily accessible.
    • Regularly move thrift from warehouse to onsite storage trailer and schedule pickup.
    • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely reporting as prescribed per logistics event.
    • Help maintain cleanliness and orderliness in storage areas.
    • Collaborate with volunteers and coordinate their involvement in logistics activities, providing guidance and support as necessary.
    • Collaborate with external partners as needed to aid with logistical needs involved in various events and activities.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other ministry activities as required.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional relevant certifications or training would be a plus.
    • Prior experience in logistics, loading/unloading, moving, or a similar role is preferred.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Commitment to integrity and honesty.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
    • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time
    • Able to lift 50+ pounds
    • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Able to drive a box truck.
    • Able to properly and safely use a pallet jack.
    • Ability to drive and operate a Forklift is a plus.
    • Compassionate and empathetic approach towards those experiencing homelessness.
