Position Overview
We are seeking a Sales Consultant (field sales across the state of Tennessee) who can play a pivotal part on our team by initiating business development, sales, and site inspections. The right candidate will be a go-getter with a strong sales mindset, someone eager to hunt for opportunities, build relationships, and help expand our market reach. This role requires significant travel (up to 60%). Candidates must be physically able to climb water towers and carry equipment up to 50 lbs as part of site visits and inspections.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territories.
Build, strengthen, and maintain strong client relationships through consistent and professional communication.
Conduct site evaluations, including climbing water tanks and towers, to better understand customer needs and demonstrate service capabilities.
Collaborate with technical and operations teams to deliver accurate proposals and service recommendations.
Meet and exceed sales targets by driving pipeline activity and closing new deals.
Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
Report regularly on activity, pipeline status, and market insights to sales leadership.
Assist the Executive Vice President of Sales and the Regional Sales Director with ad hoc projects and prospecting customers.
Ideal Qualifications
2+ years of experience in a client-facing role (sales, account management, or business development preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Demonstrated ability to generate leads, manage a pipeline, and drive new business growth.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility with clients.
Self-starter mindset, highly motivated, and willing to take ownership of results.
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Physical Qualifications and Logistics:
Able to travel up to 75% of the time across multiple states.
Physically able to lift 50 lbs and climb large water towers safely.
Required safety training to meet local, state, and federal safety standards.
Valid driver’s license and ability to drive for work-related travel.
