Job Description:
A Concrete Production Laborer makes quality composite products in a safe and timely manner by operating various types of equipment including concrete vibrators, forms and forklifts. Production of pieces is organized on a pre-determined schedule based on customer order priority and daily shipping requirements.
Principal Job Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of production duties including but not limited to: Operating a forklift to maneuver products, materials and forms. Cleaning and oiling forms, operating concrete vibrator products.
Fills forms to required level working with cement trucks providing concrete materials, ensuring forms are filled accurately and as cleanly as possible. Placing reinforcing steel as needed, adds lifting hardware, finishes concrete based on quality control standards and/or specifications of drawings. Strips product off forms once they are cured and completed. Stacks products correctly and properly applies curing treatments.
Reads production drawings and recognizes whether the product is set up properly. Sets up forms as indicated in the production drawing with the correct bill of materials. Makes modifications indicated to the set-up as necessary.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, returns all tools after use to the proper storage location, and performs routine housekeeping (i.e.; cleaning, organizing in the shop area). Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Identifies and immediately reports any unsafe working conditions to the shop supervisor and other employees.
Advises shop supervisor of any issues after daily inspections of forms and equipment are complete to ensure all equipment is ready for the following day's production.
Qualificatins:
No previous experience required.
Ability to read and interpret production drawings a plus.
Proficient in utilizing tape measures and basic hand tools including but not limited to: trowels, hammers, wrenches, chisels, power tools, etc.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and be able to work on your feet for the majority of the day in all types of weather conditions. Able to multi-task and work well with others.
Key candidates have common sense and an overall awareness of their surroundings to ensure a safe workplace. Motivated, self-starters with good communication skills a plus.
