As a Host, you'll be the first and last point of contact for our guests—welcoming them with a smile, managing waitlists, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience from start to finish. You'll be an essential part of our commitment to delivering exceptional service and coastal hospitality.

This full-time seasonal position offers competitive pay and opportunities to grow your hospitality skills in a supportive and vibrant work environment. The schedule will include day and evening shifts and may require working on weekends and holidays. The starting wage is $18.23 per hour.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly and professionally as they arrive at the restaurant.

• Manage seating chart and waitlists efficiently.

• Communicate effectively with servers and management to ensure smooth table turnover and guest satisfaction.

• Provide accurate wait time estimates and maintain an organized and welcoming host stand.

• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in the front-of-house area.

• Respond to guest questions and concerns promptly and with a positive attitude.

• Represent the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa with a high level of professionalism and hospitality.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a host or in a customer-facing role preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask in a busy environment while remaining calm and courteous.

• A team player with a positive and professional attitude.

• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.

• Familiarity with reservation software is a plus.

Performance Measurement:

90-day performance review, guest feedback, teamwork contributions, and adherence to service standards.
