Outdoor Voices is looking for a Product Developer to support the development process of our technical performance apparel from sketch to commercialization. Reporting to the Director of Technical Design, you will collaborate with Design leading construction and fit. You will promote technical standards across our product categories and support the seasonal calendar process to maintain buy ready status. Your passion and craftsmanship will directly support innovation across all product categories for our brand.
Responsibilities
- Support the fit process end-to-end, including using standard blocks to creating size charts and leading fittings of prototypes and size sets
- Achieve and maintain proper fit throughout the development process by providing detailed, image-based fit corrections to our vendors
- Follow the deadlines set by the development calendar and provide seasonal tracking of prototype samples
- Create accurate Bills of Materials and keep up-to-date throughout the development process
- Evaluate prototypes for construction and compliance ensuring styles are tested following OV standards
- Ensure costing targets are met through predictive costing. Review, validate, and approve costing information throughout the entire creation process
- Maintain quality exceptions with senior management
- Manage execution and approval process of all washes; ensuring all are workable in production and at the right cost
- Issue, manage, and maintain seasonal development tracking report for factories
- Issue, manage, and maintain production hand off with all details for lead times, price, and supplier
- Domestic and international travel as needed
Qualifications
- 5 + years relative industry experience in technical or performance apparel
- Technical knowledge of performance product and body sizing
- Expertise in product standards, garment construction, sizing and grading relating to technical sports apparel
- Experience working with a cross functional product creation team
- Experience leading product testing programs including component and garment testing for approval
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
- Experience working with Product Data Management Systems to create Tech Packs
- Sewing and mock-up skills a plus
